In the market to consolidate a rangefinder and binos into one unit. Hearing great things about both of these units but there is an obvious, substantial price difference and I guess I would like to know what it is about the Leica's that would justify me spending the additional $2k. I don't have the option to put my hands on either one or both to compare them side by side.

Is the glass in Leica's that much better? Is ranging beyond 2000 yards significantly easier for them over the Sig's? I have also heard that the diopter on the Sig is in constant need of being adjusted because it does not stay in focus between uses and I'm unsure if that was just on earlier units or if it's still an issue.

Just trying to get an idea of what direction to go in. I do have desire for amazing glass but not sure I want to spend $2k more to get it if the Sig's are close.

If glass is your priority, get the Leica. If ranging is your priority, get the Sigs. The Sig glass is still very good. Not Leica glass but certainly not a turd. The Sigs range like no other I've used including two Leica monocle units. Current Leica is a CRF2700B and I also have the Sigs. I've ranged the Sig out to 4497 yards. Not all targets will range that far, in fact most don't, but the one I was hitting would consistently hit. This was in some significant sunlight. Not noon high but still cloudless and bright.

Appreciate all the responses. Consistent and accurate ranging is number one, but I sure do love nice glass.

The Leica are very good at ranging. Just not as fast or as far as the Sigs.

Sig actually recommends you use continuous ranging during use for better accuracy of what you're ranging. IOW, you'll find the target, what's behind the target, what' in front of the target, what's next to the target and you 'learn' exactly where the target is and thus the correct range.

They do this by providing an extremely fast return and readout.

Bought the Sigs. I just couldn't justify the Leica's without comparing the two side by side. As far as being happy, I would say it's a little early to tell as I have not used them much due to weather and schedule. I will say this, I compared them to a pair of Steiner HX 10x42 binos I had and the Steiner glass quality was slightly better. When observing a tree line I was able to resolve more with the Steiners, not a huge difference but noticeable.

Leaving for a trip in a couple weeks that I will be able to use them on and I will report back with the results.
