Magnus made in Germany. Fortis in Portugal. Is the Fortis merely a Portugese built Magnus? Any difference optically between these two?
Also, how would you guys rate the S&B Zenith compared to a Zeiss V6/V8 and Swarovski Z6?
I'm still looking for a low light scope to top my 27 Nosler for deer hunting.

The visus is nowhere close to the magnus. I have multiple of each. FOV is much smaller on the Visus. The far edges are very slightly distorted. Color is completely different. Contast is completely dofferent. Magnus' are outstanding I wish I had 10 more of them. Visus is gosh darn good, but Im good with the amount that I have.

Also, have had a Zenith. It is not as good as the Magnus, but better than Visus on FOV. Both Leicas have better color to me, contast is much better in the Zenith than the Visus. Magnus is in a different league. The only reason to get a Zenith over Magnus is if you have to have FFP.

I returned the Magnus as it had A LOT of dust and a smudge inside the erector assembly and 10X and above was very unacceptable. Possibly related to the all the crap I saw inside. Sportoptics apparently has it back up on their site as new. Sad. It's possible mine was also a return.

I have a zeiss conquest i think, s&b zenith and classic, leica amplus, nightfoce atacr, not exactly what your comparing,

s&b zenith is a excellent hunting scope, superior low light visibility, very solid build, top level glass, very repeatable adjustments.

It is easily my best huntings scope, (nightforce atacr is not a hunting scope) would buy another wo thinking about it. It has best low light performance of any scope ie used, if not the same. Pretty sure sb uses same glass throught out their entire line. I could be wrong tho

Do you find the Zenith's fov to be small? Any tunneling? The 2.5-10X fov is 39.6-12ft which is a bit narrow.
