I have an opportunity to purchase a Leica Vector 1000. I can't seem to find much information on this particular model, and I'm interested to hear reviews from anyone who has used them... thanks!

That's the first of the Vector line of products, basically a Geovid in a new shell. Collectors item now, as is the 1500. While it is a decent enough LRF to 1000, and a great 7x42 binocular, it has been FAR outpaced by current commercial units. Pay < $1000 and it's not a bad deal.
905nm laser, about 2x2 mil, 1200 +/- 3 yards on decent targets, has some trig functions that the Geovid does not. Waterproof, floats in fact. Fantastic glass, excellent battery life (CR25 battery) about 2500 operations per battery. Compass and inclinometer (+45/-45 degrees). Some versions have a reticle in the right eyepiece. The 1500's added the serial data port and increased the range to 2K, though still a 905nm laser. The IV became the military standard laser rangefinder, 1550nm laser and 5K range. The 21 and 23 are current issue, 12K and 20K with even more functions built in.

Thanks for the info! The asking price is right at 1k, so it sounds like an ok deal and a good piece of equipment ...
