Hello all,
I'm in the market for a 308 semi-auto that is a tack driver. I've narrowed it down to the Les Baer 308 Semi Auto Match 24" barrel and the Rock River Arms LAR-8 Varmint A4 26" barrel. Both have 2 stage triggers. Here's the pros and cons of each.
Les Baer
Pro - Guaranteed 5 shot 1/2" MOA
Pro - Optional Magpul stock and Enforcer muzzle break
Pro - comes with Harris bipod & 2 mags (to RRA 1 mag)
Pro - 2 stage trigger that's adjustable from 1.5 - 4 lbs
Con - twice as expensive as the RRA
Con - No forward assist (I've read claims that it's unnecessary, but that's like not wearing a seat belt because you don't plan to crash. I like the assurance.)
RRA
Pro - 1 MOA guaranteed (have seen some amazing shots online)
Pro - Comes with Forward Assist
Pro - Price
Pro - Thicker barrel
Pro - May have more readily available parts since it's not quite as custom.
Con - Stainless barrel (I personally prefer an all around black rifle)
In a nut shell, is the Les Baer worth twice the cash for guaranteed better accuracy, or would you go with the RRA?
