So lots of "China" threads around these days. As things keep ratcheting up and as our government (and borders) are completely compromised by the Communists.

But we need to get our terminology straight. The aggressors against our economy, our military, our allies and our children are not the Chinese. They are the Chinese Communist Party... ChiCom's... Not Chinese.

In fact, there is only 'one' China. True Chinese people... who carry on the heritage, precepts, intelligence, industriousness and history of China. And they are the only true Chinese. They live on Formosa... also known as Taiwan. They are the ONLY Chinese left. They are the one true China. Because only they can trace their cultural and even genetic lineage all the way back to an ancient, prosporous and inventive culture that was once at the leading edge of, well, almost everything.

The ChiComs have no 'Chinese' left in them. Any of them who were born and/or allowed to live after 1949 are little more than insects. Worker bees, allowed to live by the state. Anyone who has not conformed to the party line, be it in religion, regional dialect, independence-of-thought, behavior, even color... has been ruthlessly murdured by the ChiCom State. I believe that’s the point. While I agree with the op general thought, and I do feel sorry for the guy spending his life in a rice field against his will, the simple fact is said rice feeds the army that someday will very likely be killing Americans. What you said is pretty much true of most dictatorship’s and communist regimes in history. Stalin killed 70+ million of his own people, the kgb wasn’t exactly popular, but the Russian people provided all the goods and material for the Russian army, who then massacred their relatives. You can’t separate a enemy’s backbone even if it isn’t exactly willing, because there isn’t a army in history that could wage war without being supplied by the rest of its population, and the quickest way to victory in any war is to destroy those supply lines, so yes the Chinese people are in fact our blood enemy.

I believe that’s the point. While I agree with the op general thought, and I do feel sorry for the guy spending his life in a rice field against his will, the simple fact is said rice feeds the army that someday will very likely be killing Americans. What you said is pretty much true of most dictatorship’s and communist regimes in history. Stalin killed 70+ million of his own people, the kgb wasn’t exactly popular, but the Russian people provided all the goods and material for the Russian army, who then massacred their relatives. You can’t separate a enemy’s backbone even if it isn’t exactly willing, because there isn’t a army in history that could wage war without being supplied by the rest of its population, and the quickest way to victory in any war is to destroy those supply lines, so yes the Chinese people are in fact our blood enemy.

Now apply this same logic and standard to your nearest and most dangerous enemy, the gov’t and those that work for and empower this criminal organization that attacks the rest of us that don’t, many of whom carry a gun in its defense under the illusion of serving and protecting the public.

Would like to believe that China today realizes they are nothing without the United States, the yuan currency
is based a GDP enriched from slave labor. Without the economy of the US the entire rest of the word could

I recently read a think-tank's (see link below) report on CCP development of ballistic missiles, with both conventional and nuclear warheads. The numbers of new missiles and launchers that CCP is putting into service is staggering (1000s across all types). They highlighted the DF-21 and especially DF-26 missiles as "Carrier Killers" and "Guam Killers." The idea is to overwhelm limited supply of US SAM defenses with large numbers of inbounds, and then, after those stocks are depleted, continue firing more to remove the US threat coming out of Guam and from the carriers. Chinese ROE against targets in Japan is less clear.

Any experts on CCP ballistic missiles care to comment? Maybe this think-tank is overestimating the numbers, and therefore this depleted stock risk.

The movie Starship Troopers is... entertaining. But only slightly resembles the book.

The book is one of a handful that I think should be required reading.

And yes, the bugs represented communism.

But I could swear the actors read it because they brought the characters to life. The only odd thing was casting a gringo to play Rico. But Casper pulled it off. Other shining moments from Michael Ironside and Clancy Brown.

Heinlein, himself, thought that more important was the story arc of Rico maturing from a goofball kid into a man and a citizen being productive in society.

LOL! I actually haven't "read" it.

A few years ago I was working down in Norman. I would drive down there on Sunday afternoon, stay with family in the area, and leave Thursday after work... It's about a 4 hour drive and I got tired of listening to my music playlists... So I started listening to free audiobooks on YouTube to pass the time... And Starship Troopers was one of the first ones to pop up. I enjoyed the movie and had always wanted to read the book. Hands down, one of the best books I've ever "read." I actually listen to it about once a year on average.

I am actually considering buying paperback copies of it and passing them on to my kids... And in turn making sure my grandkids read it as well. It will be a minute, the grandkids are just starting to get out of diapers... But I consider it an investment.

Heinlein made several points in that book that I absolutely agree with... Limiting franchise to those who have proven themselves responsible enough to use it... And publicly flogging parents alongside their children in the event the child commits a crime.

I also never understood the criticisms of the book... Racist, misogynist, blah, blah, blah... Rico was Filipino, "Jelly" was middle eastern, Shojumi was Japanese... And women were piloting starships due to their higher average mathematics scores and fine motor skills.

"The Moon is a Harsh Mistress" is also very good. I recommend it if you haven't read it yet.

starship troopers-1 of the best 10 books,novels at least,ever written. the hollywood dips that made the movie tried to dis and spoof the book and it's ideas. they failed to do so. dune is another sci fi standout that gets the danger of compuers,AI and replacing humans with machines laid out. movies of it? so,so.
our century plus of a war economy has not done productive citizens any good-true. got a lot of people killed though. we need a strong detering defense not an empire benefiting our elites. yes,that would not be free of charge.
china is our enemy. i wouldn't call it communist. it is fascist by any definition i am aware of. calling it that would confuse people,esp on the left. those have no idea what fascism is but are happy to label anyone who disagrees with them as such.
our entire system of democratic/republican gov a la the bill of rights is gone. destroyed from within by people that are stupid,greedy,traitorous and egomaniacal. is it salvageable? i don't think so for all the reasons everybody here knows.
