Leupold 8-32, 34mm tube ring height

Leupold has a nifty ring selector on their site. Just tell it you're using a Rem 700 SA.

The size of the objective would be helpful. It's kind of the thing that will be hitting.

Doubtful that low will work. You'll likely be at high or extra high with a straight barrel and 56mm objective (assuming 56mm).

Will low rings give me clearance on the front shade and barrel?

Thanks

"Low" is a generic term and different from ring manufacturer to manufacturer. You should list the actual height from base to center of tube listed by the ring maker.

I use 1.26" height on my 56mm scopes now as it's easier to get behind. Below is my Vudoo set up with a 40 moa base and 1.2" straight barrel for comparison.

Doubtful. I just put a Leupold Mark 4HD 6-24x52mm with a 25MOA rail on a CZ 457. I used the Warne Mountain Tech 'Low' rings and I don't have much clearance off the barrel.

Big fan of using the play cards (or quarters method). Only downside is you have to buy the scope first and have it in person.

From there you can play with different potential heights via the playing cards or quarters on top of the receiver and then measure your favorite height.

This has given me piece of mind as the terms “low” etc and very general and mean different things on actual heights on different ring manufacturers
