I have a set of the alumina lens caps on a Mark 4. They screw on the end of the scope and the objective cover is not tight where I want it to stop. Anyone have any experience with this? I was thinking about some plumber's putty in the threads. Any experienced suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks...

Mine is the same way, doesn't bother me too bad but if someone posts a fix I'll use it.
Come to think of it, blue Loc-tite would probably work.

The cover and threaded part rotate to allow alignment. Put the cap loosely on the scope, ie just start the threading, put your fingers on the knurling on the inside of the cap and rotate the flip open lens. Just keeping doing this till it aligns perfect when tight.

I actually like that I can move them around while tightened down, i thought that was how they were designed.. or maybe I was missing something?
