Does anyone have any on hand experience with the Leupold m5 6-20 and 8-25? Im looking at getting both, is the glass quality still the same as the old leupolds? Being FFP how is the ret (specifically TMR) with small targets at extended ranges?

Re: Leupold m5

I'm looking hard at the 4.5-14x50mm version with M5 knobs and TMR reticle.

The only criticism I've read so far is that below 12-14x, the TMR reticle is about useless in a FFP scope. Apparently the TMR reticle is on the thin side, and going to FFP makes it easily disappear.

I'm hoping Leupold will soon start offering their SFP scopes with M5 knobs. I can't find anything yet, but their 4.5-14x50mm in SFP and M5 knobs would be my ticket.

Thanks. That is a good start. Now for the other models.

Re: Leupold m5

I have had this scope in 6.5-20 for over a month, and have been doing an Extensive "Box" test on the tracking with an Expensive, very accurate .22 trainer and its tracking just fine. Layed out on a mill spaced grid and a Big pc. of card board and its been fantastic so far.

I feel its a great "Value" for FFP and Mill/Mill configuration

I have been really happy with the Leupold M5, it has exceeded my expectation
