I have a problem here... I just recently added to my Leupold 8.5-25x50 a custom turret set for the 208 A-max. I zeroed it at 100 yards, moved to 200 yards and set the turret for 200 and whacked the 3/4" paster I was aiming for (repeatedly). I then moved to the 300 yard line and set the turret for 300 and hitting within 1/2 of an inch of the aim point. A few days later, I was shooting 700 yards at a 8" x 8" piece of steel. Again, I set the turret for 700, adjusted the windage a few clicks and I was repeatedly hitting the target. Now here is the kicker, the next day (yesterday) I went back to shoot 200 yards, I set the turret for 200 and I was hitting 4.5" high. Tracking problem??? or something else???

I dont have this set up, but the only problems i had like this was. 1.Set screws on actual scope weren't tight. 2.My gun was dirty shot great the week before then just like that stop shooting, took it home cleaned it and tack driver again. Just my problems here. I would look at everything before blaming the tracking. Hope that helps.

It is still possible that your turrets slipped.
Look though the glass out the window while simultaneously making adjustments.
With a proper reference one can box test on their neighbors house (or the like) to see if their scope is tracking properly.

There are many tests you can do without ever firing a round.

I had a VX3 8.5-25 LR Target scope that performed in a similar manner. After several shots it would settle where it was supposed to be.

I sent it back and received a new one from Leupold about two weeks later.
I then replaced that one with a NF.

Leupold has great customer service.
I just wish it wasn't needed so often!

Try adjusting the knobs the same way every time. Adjust from short range to longer range every time.

If going from long range to short, go past the desired setting a few MOA then go up to where you want it.

Thanks for the advice, I would try it but the scope should be touching down in Oregon in a few hours.
