Rifle Scopes Leupold Mark 5HD for $1679?

I have the opportunity today to pick up a brand new in box MARK 5HD 5-25 PR-1 MOA scope with illumination for $1679.

Am I absolutely stupid to not take that deal?

Always wanted a Razor 3 but this seems to good to pass up.

That’s my main hesitation. All my other scopes are MIL

If your other scope are MIL, you are introducing an opportunity for error when calling out or receiving Dope information.

Don't. You can get a MIL PR2 for not much more without working too hard. Used probably for less.

Leupold has a VIP program too should you meet eligibility criteria. Definitely worth checking out.

The Mark 5 has great glass, and I loved the locking elevation turret, but my own personal experience with a sample size of 1 with the PR2 reticle, the tracking was lacking.. It took leupold forever and a day to test it out and finally come to the conclusion to send out a new optic. I honestly thought they were just gonna send it back to me and say tough luck as long as it was taking.. I received the new optic and sold it immediately and haven't looked back. Like I said, sample size of 1, the replacement could have been great, who knows..

We call this being “Ikea’d” in my family.

It isn’t what I want, but it’s close, like so many things at IKEA, thus I am tempted to buy it.
