Now this could all be user error, but I've maxed out the upward travel while trying to site in a new Mark 4HD. Nightforce rings, didn't work on a Tikka Tac A1 (intended rifle) so I tossed it on my AI as well and its no better. WTF did I do incorrectly? Took the caps off and still couldn't get any more travel.

I was fighting this same issue, except I could not get my MK4HD to aim low enough to get on target (was two feet high with the turret maxed out to the bottom). I swapped mounts and remounted the scope and, wa-la, perfect zero. I can't say for sure, but I'm pretty sure it was the recoil lug on the previous mount that was not seating fully on the rail of my receiver, and adding additional cant. You might look at your rings to see if they are fully seating in the rail. Just a suggestion...

Thanks for the feedback. Going to try again tomorrow. I’m sure it’s my error
It’s easy to get turned confused, at least for me. I like to pull my bolt and line up the barrel with the target looking through it. Then, without moving the rifle, adjudt the turrets until the crosshairs are on the same target. Saves sight in ammo.

I do a boresight the same way before I ever hit the range. Use a small/distinct object as an aiming point, pull your bolt, center it in the barrel looking down through it, then move the crosshairs to be centered on it as well. Then when you go to the range, you’ll at least be on paper at 100 yards. I’ve done this traditional boresight method for decades and it never fails to get me on paper.
