Rifle Scopes Leupold Metric

Re: Leupold Metric

Yep that's basically correct adjustments are 0.05 mil.

I've yet to even see one, I think most guys steer clear of them because the adjustments are so small. Though if you do the math .5cm (~.2") is pretty close to .25" adjustments a lot of guys love so it's hard to say.

Re: Leupold Metric

somebody here posted pics of a Leupold with Mil turrets.

the box said .05 mil knobs

the knobs said .1 mil on them (a good thing) BUT there were three small marks between 0 and .5, like they were still thinking .25 something. it looked like a half-assed attempt to me, and i am a leupold fan.

Re: Leupold Metric

Leopold often acts as if it knows more than the users of its product and that it knows what its users need better than they do.

This approach is often combined with rookie mistakes: the M3A is an old example of misunderstanding the Mil; calling the new scope 'Metric' is a new example of the same.

I know of nobody who asked for and nobody who has a use for .05 Mil adjustments on that scope. It would restore some of my faith in the company if anyone were to prove me wrong on that.

Re: Leupold Metric

Not yet Glenn but word is a new series of scopes is coming ....when is still unknown.Hopefully they will restore their position in the tactical market which has suffered over the past few years. If they just make a few feature changes and tighten up their QC without getting stupid in pricing it would be good for all.

Re: Leupold Metric

Tough to say Glenn, I emailed them asking that vary thing maybe 2-3 month ago and was told they had no plans to make a 0.1 mil knob. Not sure if that has changed.

However, maybe with more and more players in the tactical scope market and the general shooting public being more and more educated wanting matching knob/reticules and such they will step up. I know at least one local shop that has almost stopped ordering MK4 scopes because once people handle and hear about the NF lineup they started to carry sales of the MK4's tanked.

Re: Leupold Metric

The one swaro I have is in .1 mil but not tactical. All the lit. that came with it was explained in inches though. I guess we weren't as educated 12 years ago. It is a good
trade off between 1/4 and 1/2 moa clicks though.

Why wouldnt it explain in inches mil has nothing to do with metric its an angular measurent?

Re: Leupold Metric

A friend of mine has one, it sucks. Lets see for starters the turret doesn't return to 0 stop. You have to remember which line on the turret your 0 is set at. One turn is only 30 centimeters, or 60 clicks. Heres a super stupid feature, the scope is marked to 28, 30 is 0 on the first revolution. It's a .5 centimeter turret, why are the numbers in centimeters? Thats a great feature when you need to make a fast elevation change. I don't know maybe Leupold figures everyone shoots paper and has all day long to play with the turret on that scope. Leupold needs to take their head out of their ass and get with the program. That scope is far from user freindly.

Use a silver sharpie to make a line of your own. Paint pens from the auto store also work.
