I have a Leupold Vari X III 4-12x and was wondering if it were possible to put tactical knobs on it. I wanna be able to use my 7mm mag Browning A-Bolt for tactical shooting and figured that putting tactical knobs on the scope (if I am able to, if I can't I'll go drink natty light and smoke two packs of cigs) would be the first place to start. I would also be interested in using it to shoot big game animals as well as squirrels. Thank you and I appreciate your input.

Call Leupold up and they will help you on what you need to know. I have had the vari-x 111 scopes with the target turrets that have caps that cover them on 1 inch tube scopes. I am not sure if you have to have a 30mm tube to have tactical 1s put on.

Natty light? You need to get some better drinking beer man. The US has one of the most diverse microbrews around, and you're drinking Natty Light? I didn't even play beer pong with Natty Light in college, gotta at least get Miller Lite.

I do enjoy the micros especially Great Lakes and their Christmas Ale is called Christmas Crack for good reason... its addictive and gets me where I wanna be. As far as the Natty, I do enjoy it because it takes me back to my college days with all of my old chaps.
So are the tac knobs hard to install, or do I need to send it in to Leupold? I took a pot shot at a black bear last week here in PA and missed it because I had to use kentucky windage.

I will give you a go on the Natty, thats some great stuff especially when you wash it down with some Boro Reds. As far as the target knobs I think they are out there just do a google search or use the google search option on the hide. Oh and Wildman I love your signature thats good stuff! Dont tread on me!!

Well I definitely want to keep my warranty in tact, especially since Leupold scopes break down and are kinda shoddy.
Does anyone know how much it costs to have tactical knobs put on if Leupold installs them? I'm trying to save up money so I can upgrade to camels and PBR.

Isn't the 4-12x a VX-II, though? not a VX-III? I believe those will only accept the target knobs, not the M1 knobs which I believe you are referring to.
