Member Link Up Lexington, KY ranges

Re: Lexington, KY ranges

Rifle or pistol? Or both?

In Franklin County there's a membership range. Probably 200 yards on rifle. Pretty good setup if you like clay pigeons.

There's a range in Daniel Boone forest, which is about an hour or so drive from Lexington. It's over the river and through the woods to get there (last time I had to offload and hike the last part of the way in b/c a bridge was out).

The Park City range where the event was last weekend was decent, but it's a little more of a drive. There may be something in E-town as well.

There used to be a great indoor range in Lexington, but it burned down about 5 or so years ago.

Re: Lexington, KY ranges

Rockcastle shooting center is good out to 1680. Take a couple of friends and make an afternoon of it. I have shoot at the Zilpo shooting range near Cave Run Lake. There is a small fee, yet you can shoot all day out to about 200 yards.

Bluegrass Sportsmans League in Wilmore has multiple ranges out to 300 yards. You do have to have to have a membership, but it is close to Lexington.

Anderson County Shooting Club has a waiting list. It is a great shooting club that deserves a look.

Then, you could always ask your local farmers or land owners. Put up a flyer in a shop asking for a place to go shoot. It helps to always reassure whoever that you use safe weapons handling skills and that you will always respect their property and clean up after yourself. also offer to help out around the property.

Good Luck
