Light/Medium Palma vs Rem Varmint/Bull Sporter?

what is the difference when selecting a barrel between the palma or sporter contours.....is there an advantage?

It would be for my new hunting rifle, 6.5wsm

If it is going to be a hunting rifle, I would go with a bull sporter contour if your going to have to pack it very far.

I have two Savages with Criterion prefit barrels; has a 26" Savage Varmint contour barrel (very similar to Sendero/Rem Varmint) and another is a 22" Savage Light Varmint contour.

In my opinion, the light varmint contour is perfect for a multi-purpose rifle that sees a lot of time in the field in addition to the range. Less weight, better rifle balance (IMO), and yet still plenty stiff/accurate.
