I’ve recently gotten a bolt action 300bo and really wanted to start losing light weighters with trailboss. Well trail boss is gone now so what other powders will work for ~150gr and less? I’ve heard VV 320 and maybe RL7?

All load data I’ve seen is usually for the typical 190+gr bullets. Is there any good lightweight load data out there? My main goal is to reduce noise levels suppressed. Currently using Lil’ Gun and 190’s, but would love to find a quiet 150gr load to really blow my nips off.

I always considered H110 a fast burning pistol/shotgun powder, the same as 296. I load the Barnes 110 grain Tac-tx over 19.2 grains of H110, 2368 fps, 16”barrel. Have been shooting this load since 2012. on the other hand, I use 11.7 of 1680 for the 190 grain Hornady sub-x and 11.2 1680 for the Sierra 220 grain sub sonic loads. I shoot a 10” Novesk and a Ruger ranch both in 300BO. Always with a can. Don’t pay much attention to the noise level. Anything heavier than 190 grain, I use 1680, any bullet lighter, 110 or 296. Started doing this years ago, never looked back. These are my loads, my weapons, your mileage may vary.

Years ago a friend loaded up cast and powdercoated 110gr bullets intended for 30 carbine and put them over 3gr of unique if I remember right. They would do about 700 fps and were comically quiet. Obviously these wont cycle a semi auto, but in a bolt or break action they are a lot of fun.
