I took my future step-daughters (ages 5 & 7) on their 2nd trip to the range. I bought them a used Glenfield .22 for Christmas, painted it and this was their 1st time shooting it. They were also able to shoot a friend's Enfield .22 trainer, 10/22, an old Czech .22, my Bearcat, the 7yr old shot my Gold Cup and they were both able to shoot a friend's MP5. I'm not sure who had more fun, me or the kids

. They're begging to go back and I'm loving it!!!
This is the 7yr old:

Re: Little kids & guns are a great combination!

That's great! Cute kids.

I took my 6 year old son out to shoot a .22 a few weeks ago. When we got back to the house my 4 year old daughter said she wanted to go. I took her out but she didn't want to shoot she just wanted to watch me shoot. I'll keep working on her. I show her the pictures of the Hello Kitty AR and she says she wants one so I'm getting her pointed in the right direction. If she still wants one when she's old enough (and I have the money) I'll build her a pink AR.

I know this thread is old, but I figured I'd bring it back with some new pics. I took my oldest stepdaughter, who's almost 10, to a summer gun safety program put on by the agency I work for. We get about 30 different kids every day for a week. They get gun safety, drug awareness, 1st aid, stranger danger, water safety, K9 & SWAT demos, etc. I've been doing this camp for 11 or 12yrs and this is the 1st year that she was able to go. The only issue was her little sister who was mad as hell because she's not quite old enough to go. Me and their Mom were married 2 months ago and I'm loving this Dad stuff!
