I have had good luck with spinning up bartlein's for MWS's with rifle length gas systems and SLR adjustable gas blocks. The SLR adjustable (and most other gas blocks) are lower than the MWS gas blocks. The rifle length gas systems work out pretty well because the extra length of the tube creates a lesser angle as it goes back towards the chamber end. When trying this with a mid length gas system with the slr and straight tube the shorter gas block creates a steeper angle as the tube goes to the chamber end. This does not fit in the upper receiver as is and the tube must be tweaked to fit. I am trying to avoid this all together by using the LMT gas block that comes with the barrels. They are pressed on and pinned. I have been able to remove them from the barrels, but can't think of a way to press them onto a new barrel and line up the gas port. Has anyone done this before or used an LMT gas block on an aftermarket barrel? Ive thought about just making the barrel to where the block will just barely slide on and then drilling and pinning it. Also thought about tapping the holes in the bottom and installing set screws.
Any ideas on how to install and LMT gas block on an aftermarket MWS barrel?
