Ok I currently own a .308 mws with a 16" cl barrel and was going to upgrade to the stainless .308 barrel lmt offers until I started reading about the high b.c. 6.5 creedmoor! This cartridge really is somthing. The problem im having is finding out how accurate this combo is with the mws platform. Do guys really like the 1:9, are 130's and 140's out of the question? Every piece of info i find seems to fall short of actually showing what kind of real accuracy people are getting. Id really like to see some 5 shot groups (more than one) so to know theres no cherry picking goin on. Maybe this thread exists and I just cant find it? Please help me make a decision.

It's doesn't exactly apply to you situation but I have a MWS in 6.5 Creedmoor, but it's a Noveske 24" 1/8 barrel. From the load work I've done so far it's almost a wash between the 123 and 140 amax. The 140s get an extra 40yds or so before transonic but the 123s consistently group tighter. Getting .4-.5moa with the 123s@2860fps and .5-.7 with 140s@2750fps. Velocities verified by drop to 750 or 1000yds.

LMT guarantees 1.5 moa from their non 308 barrels. I have got both sub moa and right around that 1.5 moa with mine. It was shooting better the longer I left the barrel dirty and as soon as I cleaned it it went back to the 1.5 moa range. It has been temporarily shelved. I would even consider selling the whole upper (and buy a slick side replacement). I can say that it worked well in -20 f° in Montana this winter.

Thanks for the info guys. Well I cant live with a 1.5 moa guarantee from lmt when others with 6.5 cm are getting the accuracy they are from aftermarket barrels. Hey newguy who fit your noveske barrel for you? Thats pretty impressive, .5 and .7 moa.

SVXWilson are you going to build a new 6.5cm upper with that Genesis you got?

Marvin Pitts/Nefarious Arms. He's done this MWS barrel and a few MRP barrels for me. He overshot his delivery dates by 2-3 weeks but the work is solid and for a good price so I can deal with that.

Have not decided on .260 or 6.5 Creedmoor, but that upper will have all JP components and I am planning on a 6.5mm variant. Fits tighter than the factory upper! I don't have the funds to do that build or afford the scope for it just yet though.

Got mine a couple weeks ago, it fits nice on my KAC and LMT lowers. I am in the same boat, waiting on funds to build / Scope a new upper. Till then going to be shooting my 7.62 upper.
