I received my BRT EZTUNE gas tube for my LMT MWS with a 20” 6.5mm CR barrel that was over gassed. The .086” orifice in the BRT gas tube is a major reduction from the 0.125” orifice in the LMT gas tube. It was an easy install. I will post how it shoots after I have time for a trip to the range.

Awesome, looking forward to the report.

While I love LMT, there gas port sizing is a little generous to say the least. Love their reliability, and there parts engineered to be more than durable enough to take the increase pressure.

Considering that gas ports erode, I wonder what the service life is for these gas tubes? Considering the price and ease of swapping them, I think they are a good solution to over gassing issues in AR's

I think these are WAY better solutions than adjustable gas blocks and carriers. Generally speaking, I am not so much worried about the gas system being as efficient as possible where it barely locking the bolt back, but more along the lines of taking 10 percent off that top so its no longer running at red line, but one does not have to worry about failures when shooting weaker ammo in cold weather.

I read somewhere that the EZTUNE gas tube had a service life of 5,000 rounds.

I am eagerly awaiting one of these tubes for my MWS with a 16" bbl and rifle length tube (I chopped a 20" barrel down). I was shocked to see just how large the hole in the MWS gas tube was.

I did like the fantastic reliability with MIL/match ammo and no suppressor but try a can and FGMM and say goodbye to that reliability. It had repeatable problems with FTE. I tried an XH buffer but that just beat up my shoulder with significantly increased recoil.

I can't wait to try it out.

Is there a particular tube to order? I have original 16" CL barrel (midlength gas) and 18" SS (rifle gas) Let me try to find the site before I ask dumb questions. Thanks for this post.

Well, I ordered 2 of the 50/50's, one for each barrel. Hope they function unsuppressed, just with less gas. I stopped shooting this thing suppressed because I literally could not reuse the brass at all, when the can was on. Running the JP SCS with 3 tungstens and recoil is considerable. Does it look like I may have to reduce by 1 Tungsten weight or two with the 50/50?

I finally had an opportunity to go to the rifle range yesterday and the EZTUNE gas tube performed flawlessly.

Previously with the overgassed stock LMT gas tube installed I measured the following with the RCBS Precision Mic on the fired ejected cases. Average +6.8 or 0.0068”.

With the EZTUNE gas tube installed I measured the following with the RCBS Precision Mic on the fired ejected cases. Average +4.5 or 0.0045”.

That’s a significant reduction in case expansion.

Amazing what the overgassed LMT gas system was doing to the ejected brass. The addition of multiple layers of heavy double sided tape eliminated the case dents from the brass hitting the case deflector. I still have the heavy cuts in the case necks from the inside lugs on the barrel extension. I need to find a good article on deburring these sharp points. I think cutting a single coil from each ejector spring would also help.

A cut to size piece of the loop side of some heavy duty Velcro makes for a decent dent stopper on case deflectors.

Cutting the ejector spring is a common fix on Grendels due to the timing differences with the shorter case.
