Loading magazines with out smearing bullet lube?

I’ve got fat fingers and whenever I load my Center-X ammo, I always end up smearing the lube from the bullet onto the brass. I have to think that this leads to variation and maybe dirty chambers as the lube builds up.

Anyone have a way to load rounds into CZ45X mags or Voodo mags with out having to finger bang them and get all lubed up?

The easy way is to use the load assist buttons and only grab only the brass. On mags with extensions where the load assist button has to be removed to get the last few rounds in, I use a small diameter steel dowel to hold the follower down and use the same process to load the first 11 rounds.

The 12th and any subsequent rounds can be loaded using a mag loader. It's a bit more difficult to do without touching the lubed bullet but, it can be done. The operation goes like this: depress the stack of rounds already in the mag with the loader, carefully insert the round without touching the bullet, release the mag loader and then use the loader to catch the rim of the round and slide it back until it's fully seated in the mag.

I don't believe the minute amount of lube being 'disturbed' will affect accuracy. If you.re worried about 'chamber lube build-up' just dry patch more often. I don't see that as a real problem either, tho. I do keep a rag handy and wipe my fingers every few rounds, just to avoid dropping rounds. JMO - YMMV
