I think I may have been approaching this wrong.
What I have been doing is taking up all of the slack in my bipod so that there is a slight rearward pressure against my shoulder, and there is a slight tension against the bipod legs.
What I am now thinking I should be doing is only taking up most of the slack, but not all. The rifle will have plenty of “travel” to the rear (and into my shoulder) without the feet needing to move, but, there will not be any forward pressure being applied.
Does this all make sense, or am I way off?
