For one thing, "criminal justice activists" become "criminal justice activists" because they want criminal penalties lowered or eliminated for their own enjoyment. NAMBLA wants laws against pederasty, pedophilia, and child sex trafficking to be completely removed. Anytime somebody becomes an "activist" to protect criminal scumbags, you can simply assume that this person wants to commit the same crimes that they want to have the laws modified for...

While I'm generally a fan of knowing where predators live, there has been no shortage of unintended consequences from it as well by hideous giggling beasts that abuse everything. I know of at least two instances, and stories of many more, where 18/19 year old kids had relationships with 17 year old counterparts and paid a huge price by winding up on these lists. Also know of one case where a vindictive spouse (the father) brainwashed his 6 year old daughter into telling DCF miscreants that his ex-wife sexually abused their daughter -- something we know conclusively never happened and the girl -- now 13 -- admitted many times never happened and she was coerced by daddy, who turned out to be the one doing the abusing. She refused to plead guilty to the charge and did 2 years in prison, and has been on "The List" since her release with no end in sight. Imagine living with that false stigma.

A good idea sometimes used as a weapon. You're talking about taking a government-run system as Gospel Truth to schwack people. Might wanna reconsider that strategy.
