I have a 4th Gen glock 17 that will "stove pipe" about 1 in every 50 rounds. It also ejects the brass everywhere including in your face and on top of my head ! I have tried the 3rd gen recoil spring and Glock sent me the newest design recoil spring and it still fails to fully eject sometimes. Has anyone fixed this issue? I hear that the lone wolf extractor will fix this but they have been on backorder for months !! Any exterience with these issues ? I called Glock directly and they said that the new recoil spring assembly should fix the issue but it didn't...
I am left handed so I would REALLY like to get this one running or I would just go back to a gen 3 so please don't suggest I get a gen 3 LOL. I just need to get this one running reliably. I also have a gen 4 glock 22 and it has never malfunctioned....

Thanks
Richard

Re: Lone Wolf Extractor... Glock 17 4th Gen

I have a Gen 4 G17 that was problematic as well. Mine would stovepipe every 100 rounds on average (12 FTEs in 900 rounds when stock).

I installed a LWD extractor and a White Sound Defense HRED extractor depressor plunger and had 3 FTEs in a little over 2,000 rounds, which was quite an improvement, but not "Glock-like" reliability.

The recoil spring isn't your issue.

Glock now has a new ejector for the Gen 4 G17s and other 9mms out. It's not in circulation yet in new trigger housings, so you'll need to send in your gun if you want one, which is a 6-8 week turnaround. Make sure to return your gun completely to stock before sending it back.

Re: Lone Wolf Extractor... Glock 17 4th Gen

I am told that any part from a 3rd generation model will not work well in a 4th generation pistol. Your lone wolf extractor that you have on back order will work. There has been a flood of requests for them, thus the back order status. If you can, keep the original 4th gen extractor in the pistol, until the lone wolf one arrives. Or contact Glock for a replacement. There is a RSA out for the 22, and from what I understand through my department there MAY be some issues with the extractors on the 4 th gens....keep in mind, I say MAY! .... Tom
