Long AR10 Handguards

I have a 22" Proof barrel with the +2 gas system. Currently have an SLR Rifleworks handguard that is lightweight but also small outer diameter, I am having trouble mounting anything closer to the receiver as the screws are too long. It has been a couple years since I was researching what is out there and if there is anything long and Arca compatible that would be a double bonus. Currently looking at something from Odin Works, this would be on a 2a Armament upper/lower set.

Zev has a 17” handguard. I also think JP has one.

This is a 22” +2 gas 6.5 Creedmoor with 17.25” JP Rapid Configuration. I have three of these on large frame ARs and one on a 22” 6.5 Grendel.

Here’s the 22” Grendel. I chose the JP Rapid Configuration again because JPs adjustable gas block is fairly large in diameter.

I was going to Zev as well. But someone is selling their Zev 308 rail on here for that same reason. It would not clear a .875 gas block.

I have never used one.... but... phone first to make sure you get the right / compatible parts ( barrel nut, screws .. etc )

Wrong. I have a 260 on the ZEV with a .875 adjustable gas block from superlative Ams. Clears just fine.

Another vote for the JP 17.25" hand guard. That's why I'm running on both of my 6.5 CM's with the +2 length gas. One bonus is I can run a full length ARCA rail for all the fun attachments these days.

Wrong. I have a 260 on the ZEV with a .875 adjustable gas block from superlative Ams. Clears just fine.

That’s me selling the Zev. I had a clamp on superlative that did not clear. The new jp clamp on did not clear as well. I installed a slr sentry 8 set screw and was not comfortable with how close the flat spring screw was to the rail, I believe it would have rubbed during firing. I didn’t like the bleed off with my proof barrel. I could see where it was eroding into the cf.

The Zev rail is my favorite rail though. I have the 14.5 on another 308 and liked it so much bought the 16 for my proof barreled 308.
