We continue to offer our Precision Rifle and Long Range 101 courses in Western New York State. Also new for 2018 we have partnered up with TreadProof Academy and will be offering Precision Rifle courses at their brand new facility in Nunnelly, TN. Check TreadProof Academy for further details about TreadProof Academy.
Long Gun Training will also continue to host our friends in the precision rifle training business into our facilities. We have coordinated with Ridgeline Outfitters; they will be running their PR 2.0 course with us in Western New York this season. Look for other guest instructor dates as this year’s training progresses, both in New York and Tennessee.
External Ballistics Lecture (No Live Fire)
This class is intended for the precision rifle shooter and will be a comprehensive coverage of the subject of external ballistics and the use of various ballistic software programs. Students will gain knowledge and a better understanding of how a bullet travels along its trajectory, and how and what forces affect it. Also the use of ballistic programs will be covered enabling students to better understand the benefits of using them. This is not live fire instruction but a classroom course designed to educate shooters on what happens to a bullet from muzzle to target.

• Main forces affecting bullet flight - Bullet flight and understanding their forces and magnitudes
• Atmospheric conditions - Study the effects of change in an air mass a bullet travels through
• Trajectory - Combining all the pieces for a firing solution
• Slope - Shooting Uphill/Downhill trajectory
• Bullet energy - Kinetic energy vs. momentum
• Bullet design - A topic many times misunderstood with external ballistics
• Ballistic programs - An overview of various programs, how to build data sets and utilize them for a quality final firing solution
