Couldn't find any long(er) range data on 193... Took it out to 670 yards last week in about 15 mph winds (guesstimate. Trees were swaying pretty good, but the pond on the range wasn't whitecapping or anything). Burned through a mag trying to getting dialed in. It was my first time taking my AR out to that distance, and I didn't have any dope. Last 5 shots though, I got 4/5 hits on an IDPA steel target. Today I took it out to the same distance, but I could barely hit the target. Maybe 3 mph winds at the most, but my issue wasn't just windage, my shots were all over the place. Out of a mag, I got 8 or 9 hits. My optic is on the weak side (Vortex viper PST 1-4) but I was getting 4 times as many hits the week before. I'm guessing the barometric pressure was a little lower since it was raining earlier in the day. And it was about 30 degrees colder than last week. I see those variables as just shifting point of impact though, not degrading accuracy. I've got a pretty good barrel. 1/8 rainier select stainless. I don't think I was just getting lucky last week either since 4/5 is hard to argue with. Anyone try shooting 193 for distance? Any luck? Can't wait to get those 69 grain smk's in... Then I won't have an excuse.
