Guys,

I just got my new Tikka Scout up and running last weekend and got an offer to go shoot out to 1000 yards this coming weekend so my load development went on fast forward!!!

I'm using Varget and Hodgdon's manual said 45c was the max recommended load so I loaded up one round from 42 to 45 in 1/2 grain increments and checked for pressure signs. Everything looked good up to 45.

Actually, every shot at all different charge weights except the 45 fell within an inch of each other.

I then loaded up 4 rounds of 44.4, 44.7 and 45.

I'm using 175smk's, F201m and new WW brass.

Here's what I got. After the first shot at 44.4 and 44.7, the next 3 almost went in the exact same hole.

The 44.7 grouped the best and gave me avg velocity of 2575 with a SD of 8 and ES of 19. I didn't get any noticeable velocity increase between the 44.7 and 45.

So, I think I'm going to load up a bunch at 44.7 since I'm pressed for time. My calculations state this load should keep me supersonic to just shy of 1100.

Looking forward to shooting past 500 yards for the first time this weekend!
