I have some stock at work about to cash out so it's time to treat myself.
I am looking for a new scope, budget is $2000 or less. Ideally 5-25+ magnification and 56mm objective, FFP. 34mm tube is a plus since I have spare rings.
I currently have a Vortex Strike Eagle that works just fine, but I find it somewhat blurry at 20x or more and I've having a hard time adjusting the focus. I also have a US Optics TS25 that literally broke after 5 shots so it's getting repaired as we speak. I have rifles for both so they aren't homeless.
I've never handled or looked through a Nightforce NX8 but I do like MOAR reticle. Another option is a Trijicon TenMile or a Hensoldt ZF that Eurooptic has for $2k (but not FFP). Or Leupold Mark 5HD or Steiner TX5.
Does anybody have any experience with any of these?

Of those listed I would go with nightforce, Steiner, or the Leupold. Maybe in that order. I prefer Mil based reticles but I understand that is a personal preference.

You should look into getting a second gen Tango6 5-30x56. I have the 4-24 version and is incredibly bright and very clear as well.

If you can score an ATACR 5-25 at your price range, it should be a good option...

I don’t, but I know NF is good to go. That’s why I put it ahead. I would probably pick the Steiner but that’s just me. I have some friends with some higher end NF stuff and for the money I think the glass could be better. Just my opinion, but I think you pay a price in glass quality for what you expect in rock solid quality control and customer service/warranty.

I have a Leupold mk5 7-35 and I’d definitely recommend looking into one of those and they’re usually less than $2k unless you want the tremor reticle.

I don’t own an ATACR but I’ve looked through a few of them and to me, they are optically a little better which is why I’ll be picking one up at some point. You can often find them in the PX here for less than $2k. Can’t go wrong with either.
