I'm about to do a complete build. Ive looked (but maybe in wrong places on net) and want a 20" fluted barrel and tapped for a can. Beginnig to wonder if I should buy the tactical barrel from a Remington model 700 tact sd and have it fluted. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Looking for a .308 barrel

Why flutes? Get the 700 LTR and get it threaded for can. If you buy one factory and get it fluted, you run the risk of affecting accuracy and spending a butt load of money.

Re: Looking for a .308 barrel

For a complete build get a barrel blank from one of the better known makers do not go to Rem and get a barrel. I have used bugholes for my last 8 barrel purchases, he has a great inventory of barrels from some great cut-rifled manufactures and gives good service and value.

here is a link to my favorite page on his site http://www.bugholes.com/brux-barrels.php?cal=All it is my favorite because I have had great luck with Brux barrels.

every possible project, challenge and excellent to deal with! Just pick the phone up and do it man. Stop what you are doing right now and call get it done and over with as you have stated. I am a true believer in the cry one Philosophy.
down south we call this caliber of gunsmiths and expertise " son las meras vergas en la endustria" dont try to translate it on the net. It means they are masters at what they do!
Do it brother.

+1 If you're going to have barrel work done, might as well make it worth the labor. AND you can choose your contour & twist
