I am looking into a direct thread .30 cal suppressor. I currently have a 300 sps waiting that is a replacement for the one I had that the tube bulged on. Otherwise I was happy with my surefire, enough so that I have a 556 RC2.

However, I am not totally certain I want to have every rifle married to a SF muzzle device, so I am looking into a DT option.

Thunderbeast is always brought up, a guy I know says Lane makes excellent suppressors, and Surefire has a direct thread option. I also realise that many other manufacturers make interchangeable mounts that include direct thread.

Looking for any and all input. My only requirements really are .30 cal and magnum rated. Mainly to be used on bolt guns, but the occasional semi also.

Thanks!

Ultra 9 or 7 depending on suppression v size for your needs. I would get the can with the CB mount and use the CB brake on your precision rifle. I would also get a flash hider or two with the threads you want to use as direct thread inserts to run on other hosts and still be able to have CB mount on your serious rifle.

I love my Ultras (7 & 9). One is direct thread and I changed to CB for the second one. I would go CB since I have to remove it often and worry about thread damage on the rifle. I have to find thread protector, be careful installing, and so on. (E.g. Change guns, need to lock it up when traveling, etc.)
