I have a well built, essentially unfired, customized AR-15 w/ a Stag Arms upper that includes a 20", 1:7 twist, heavy barrel and I'm interested in exploring what I can do with it at distance - I own a PST Gen 2 5-25x50, currently mounted on a Tikka T3X TacbA1 (6.5cm) but would prefer to not break down the scope/mount for this project (and Ive read that thats too much scope for this application in any case).

I'm a fairly good shot- I've spent good time in long-distance shooting with the Marine Corps and also have plenty of time behind an AR platform (running iron sites or a standard ACOG at best), and would be merely taking my best SWAG at figuring how to optimize longer-range optics on the AR-15 (and with .223/5.56 for that matter).

Any suggestions on a solid optic/mounting solution would be a huge help!

I've liked Vortex for a couple years now for their quality, cust svc/warranty, and price-point, but would defer to the better judgement of the community if I'm not doing myself any favors looking that direction

Sorry for the noob-level question!

If you want fast and nimble: Vortex Razor HD Gen II 1-6

If you want accurate from prone or bench: Vortex Razor HD Gen II 3-18

I would study the available reticles, choose one and get a quote from https://www.eurooptic.com
