Do yourself a favor and take a look at Custom Gun Coatings located in Smithville, MO. I've had several stocks painted by Branden, as have many here on the "Hide", and his work is as good as it gets.

Very cool. It gives some perspective to see what can be done with different media.

Here is one of a pair of dragon guns that Steve used to shoot at Sacramento. He posts as Bolo and for that kind of paint look for a painter who sprays motorcycle tanks.
Flags come out good as well.
The big gun is a laminated wood stock with blue pearl added to a bunch of layers of automotive clear coat.
Hydro dipping is popular and I think it works well on chassis.
