I am going to put a scope on her .260(rem 700). I am not wanting to go all out but i also dont wont no mishapes in the field. What would you consider? Like to try to keep it as low as I can because she may like it, she may not. Would new Redfield be crazy?

Fixed Leupold FX-3 6X is a great scope for the money and very durable. The right shooter could do a lot with it on a 260. They can be found used for a good deal.

My wife weights about 56 kilograms, and into she´s Sako Finnlight i would buy Leupold, because L is very durable and pretty light scope.
Perhaps 3.5-10x40 Mark 4 would be nice, if your wife must shoot greater distances?

I've got two scoped hunting rifles, a Remington 700 in 308, and a Savage Weather Warrior in 260. The Remington wears a Redfield Revolution 3-9x40 and the Savage has a Vortex Diamondback 4-12x40 with adjustable objective.
If you're looking for lightweight, the Redfield is stellar for the price. I haven't read any negative reviews and have been extremely pleased with mine. With Leupold's warranty you can't go wrong. I don't like their Accu-range reticle, but that's just a preference thing, I have the Duplex reticle on mine and the picture through the scope is clear and bright.
If you dont mind a little extra weight and want a BDC type reticle Vortex makes a good scope for the money, EXCEPT for their Crossfire line. I like their BDC reticle, as it matches my loads almost exactly out to 500 yards. Sight picture in my Diamondback is very clear and bright, just like the Redfield.

I have been looking for a new hunting scope also and was considering one of these.

I read a review (by Illya, I think) that compared these to the Zeiss Conquest 3-9X40. They seemed to compare very favorably. And with the open box special, the price seems right.

I'd look for Redfield or Vortex for a hunting rifle. I've used the old Redfields for my hunting rifles for 20+ yrs and have always been more than happy. The new Redfields are of good quality for a hunting scope, and still have a warranty through Leupold. I switched to Leupolds when Redfield went out of business and I've since changed over to Votex. The Vortex has great glass, accurate tracking, and very good quality. They constantly have closeouts on special. You will not go wrong with either for a hunting scope. Liberty Optics and Cameraland NY stocks the Vortex and has very good service.
