Guys/Gals,

I know they make something out there and Im not all up to speed on what they make anymore but I'd really like to get a Rifle that I can change out the Barrel fairly easy and go to a different caliber. Does anyone have info on something like that and if so can you get it in certain calibers or do they stay with the 223/308/300/338? Email me some info love to research it and buy one soon.

In a bolt gun you have the Remington MSR
(not sure if there is a 5.56mm version, but they do offer a .308, .300WM, and .338LM kit system).

COBB had a Modular system that was supposed to be 5.56mm to .338LM in a semi auto, but I've yet to see any semi run .338LM really work.

LMT MRP's and MWS's are monolithic chassis's that allow you to swap barrels within 2min. by the use of two simple bolts.

The MRP is designed off the 5.56 and supports the following calibers: 22lr CL D.I.(Spikes/Green Mtn.), 9mm CL D.I.(Spikes/Green Mtn.), .204 ruger SS D.I.(LMT/Rock), 5.56 CL, SS, D.I., Piston(LMT/Rock), 6.8 spc CL, SS, D.I., Piston (LMT/Rock).

The MWS is designed off the .308 and supports the following calibers: .308 CL, 5R SS, D.I. (LMT/Rock), .260 rem 5R SS (LMT/Rock), .243 5R SS (LMT/Rock)

The above are all the "factory" barrels that were designed to run in the MRP/MWS chassis's however as of recent you can now take any AR15/10 barrel and machine it to work with the MRP/MWS chassis.

The MRP chassis comes in a CQB length(10") and a Rifle length(14")....the CQB supports the piston 12.5" & 16" 5.56 and 6.8 barrels as well as the 10.5" 5.56 & 6.8 D.I. barrels.

Look into these MRPs and MWSs as they sound like something you might be interested in.

Re: Looking for something new that can change Calibers

Desert tactical just sent us one of their guns, not 5.56 but .308, .300 and .338LM. I've shot it a few times, but not enough to give an opinion either way. The guy here shooting it is pretty impressed with the ease of barrel change and the accuracy. We will get to shoot it at ranges up to and exceeding a mile in DEC. Keep you posted.

Re: Looking for something new that can change Calibers

I like the .308, 300 Win Mag and the 338 LM that would enable me to cut back on the rifles I have from 3 to One. I'd also like to beable to have it like 308 Win, 6.5x47, 338 LM. But I'll look into those you have listed above.
