Looking for WW2 appraiser in Central TX

Let me know if this is the wrong section to post this. Just looking for some help.

I went with a friend this weekend and he picked up a 1942 Mosin Nagant in 7.62x54R complete with bayonet, original cleaning kit and some original ammo pouches with a few live rounds in their original wrapping.

Import mark is dot-stamped from the early 50's, all serial numbers are stamped and matching except for the bayonet. Stock seems to have armory or shipment stamp on bottom of butt.

Looking for someone who knows these guns who can see how authentic it is or isn't and maybe put a ballpark value to it. We didn't pay a large sum for it so if it's not legit it's no big deal.

Imported firearms marking wasn't required until the GCA of 1968. If the import stamp was done with a dot matrix method, it is a fairly recent import and not from the 1950s.

You are welcome. It is more than likely your typical refurbished 91-30. It may have an importer supplied Serial Number because only roman letters and Arabic numerals can be used for a S/N (no Cyrillic). I have no doubt that it is a real 91-30 pulled from storage and sold when the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact had their going out of business sale

Good to know. Most of the Nagants I find in this area are parts guns so just the fact that all numbers match on this thing is cool enough
