Re: LOOKING TO BUILD MY FIRST AR 10 RIFLE

DEFINITELY turn off the caps, please!

ASA stuff, at least in the past, has been plagued with problems from quality control, to poor manufacturing, to an @$$hole for an owner. It is my understanding that the company is now (and has been for a while now) under new management and that they have gotten their $H!T together. I have not personally used one of their newer 308 side-CH rifles, but I know that others here have in the past (you might try running a search and see what comes up). Frankly, if it was my money, I would lean toward one of the many other reputable, dependable, mainstream manufacturers if I were you.

Fulton and JP Enterprises both offer side-CH uppers based on the DPMS/KAC pattern. (Fulton uses a traditional right-side CH while JP used a CH similar to the ASA design that goes on the left side of the receiver with a fold-down handle/latch). I have personally shot both the Fulton Titans and the JP LRP-07 rifles and they are excellent!

If I were droppin the coin on a 308 AR, my first call would be to Scotty @ specialized dynamics. Proven accuracy and reliability.

I here Mike at DTech is running about a year behind currently.

GA Precision makes good rifles, but I'll never forget George Gardner picking up one of Scottmilk9's (Specialized Dynamics) uppers off of a prize table at a match-that says something to me. That and the fact that Scott's biult me a couple shooters, and he's a Hide sponsor and approved vendor.

How many D-Techs do you see on prize tables at competitions?
