I was wondering what your LOPs are using on your precision rifles?
Not PRS, but more prone in the field.

I find that standing up, I prefer 14-14.5" LOP, but prone with bipod, its more lik 12.5-13.5" LOP.

Is this common?

I run the standard fixed 13.5. I’m 6’ and relatively proportional and it works for me. I felt like the eye box on my scope made a huge difference on how comfortable I was behind the rifle when I went from my el cheapo swfa to my ATACR.

If most rifles are around fourteen inches LOP why is the minimum LOP on the Magpul PRS Gen 3 stock I put on my RPR fifteen inches and will expand to sixteen and a half?

I am running a JP one piece cantilever mount in reverse to bring the scope back far enough for proper eye relief.

I am 5'10 so maybe this is the reason I am struggling with consistant cheek weld and eye relief, not to mention unexplained flyers.

Using the trigger to crook of elbow method I am 12.5" LOP and that is what I consistently use across rifle types. Makes finding a chassis a real PITA. That and needing it inlet for a lefty Tikka.

Because people are dumb. Theres a reason the gen 2 is preffered on the RPR but even then they're long

13.5-14 is pretty typical with people realizing finally that shorter isn't a bad thing. Quote the opposite

I always laugh when I see short dude with short arms with like 6 spacers on their KRG.

Probably because the Magpul PRS was designed for use with the AR-15 platform and not the RPR or any other bolt gun chassis.

I'm over 6' and like a long LOP of 14.5"+, but I can make due with shorter LOP if needed. Scope Eye box relief distance changes considerably from prone to standing/seated positions. It is simple geometry that your head is going to be in a different, closer position being in prone as opposed to standing/seated. It's an easy mistake to make when mounting a scope to a rifle and only checking eye relief while standing/seated. A proper cheekweld is also a big factor in getting eye relief correct.

That's why sports that actually shoot standing seated prone shoot rifles with 3 different buttstocks
