Lot Numbers?

In regard to ammo and the need to buy "the same lot numbers" -
What exactly does that mean? From the same day? same loader?
Within a week on the same loader?

they're specific numbers liston on the ammo/bullets/brass/powder

in theory they are going to be more similar than two different lots (different parts on the machine, batch of brass/lead, etc)

it applies more to rimfire than anything else as rimfire is sooooo ammo dependent but it's nice to have enough of the same lot of bullets for an entire barrels life

It means nothing. I bet no one can show evidence of it making a difference.

I shoot factory, and it makes a difference out past 600yrds.
