I want to re-barrel my 22-250 to a 308Win to run 155gr SMK at about 2950 - 3000 ft/s.
I have tried to buy a cut barrel (Bartlein or Krieger) however the ONLY two viable choices currently available in the country are:
- Lothar Walter Palma Match (Stainless Steel LW50)
- Shilen Select Match (Stainless Steel 416)
Both have pretty much the same contours, are lapped and have a c. 1:13 twist. My smith knows how to work the harder LW 50 steel.
ACCURACY is my ultimate goal (as a minimum I would like to achieve sub 1/2 MOA)
Which one poses the bigger risk of being a "bad apple"?
What Barrel life can I expect?
