I scored a good deal on a Bergara B-14R barreled action and it's on the way to my FFL, so am trying to get all the other goodies ready for it so we can hit the range when it arrives. I've got two options on scopes: 1) a Vortex Razor HD 5-20x50 that I'm going to pull off a precision AR or an S&B 5-25x56 PMII that's on a .308 I'm not shooting much.
What ring heights would I need with the 30MOA rail to clear the B-14R barrel with either the 50 or 56mm Obj scope? I've already got the S&B in Seekins Low rings and they clear a normal Rem 700 SPS factory contour barrel. on a 20 MOA rail But just barely, so am wondering if the 30 MOA will give me problems on the bergara. If I order new rings, they will likely be either Seekins or Vortex.
The action is going into a McMillian stock with an adjustable cheek piece, so that should work well for various ring heights. I'm just trying to find the lowest possible rings and still be able to clear the barrel. TIA
