LR 308 DPMS Chamber out of spec?

I started reloading about 1.5 years ago, and only recently started loading 308 for a bolt rifle. I figured my DPMS AP4 would be fun to "make" brass with and I tried some white box Winchester to do just that. All good until I went to FL size and could not size the brass. Seemed like the cases expanded too much and I damn near stuck one. then I almost ripped it apart getting the thing unstuck. Wondering if my chamber is out of spec or is there something about a gas gun that could cause this?

I tried several pieces of brass with the same results. I'm using a lee FL die and Hornandy Unique case lube.

Sounds like a case lube issue. Hornady One Shot spray lube works great for re-sizing and re-loading for gas guns. You may have a loose chamber in the DPMS 308 upper (and they need to be looser because there is all kinds of surplus ammo out there that varies all over the place dimensionally) so you will probably be re-sizing your brass a fair amount through the re-size die. When you say a case got stuck in your re-size die, that is typically a case lube issue (i.e not enough case lube or not an even coating on your brass, or the wrong stuff).

The die may be a tight die too, after all, it has to size everything and the kitchen sink in the way of 308 brass and have it fit in all the possible chambers out there.

It sounds like a case lube issue, ensure that you are lubing both the inside of the neck and the body.
I stuck a case years ago using that spray lube and now just use the nasty old RCBS lube and a lube pad.
It would be interesting to measure a spent case from your bolt gun versus one from your DPMS, you could be on to something.

I would also ask what type of press you are using?

I have a dillon press and I was using the wrong size button to hold the cases against the shell plate for .223

I got one stuck and could not get it out of a hornady die with a pair of lock channel or vise pliers it just kept pulling pieces of brass off.

Finally through die away and got an RCBS small base sizer which is what alot of people recommend for a semiauto rifle.
