DPMS receivers
Clark Custom carbon fiber float tube.
NSX 5.5-22 / aluminum rings.
Geissele Automatics two stage Service Rifle trigger
Krieger 24" barrel profiled, chambered, ported by Lee Wells.
Bolt bushed and polished
I'll weigh it but its allot lighter than the bolt gun I'm trying to replace which was too heavy because I chose to heavy a barrel.

I'M EXPERIENCED WITH THESE LOADS. DO NOT BEGIN WHERE I DID

123 gr / Varget. The larger hole at 11:00 is an errant 9mm.

...not to mention that only shooting 3-round groups means you have to sit down to pee!!

Seriously, you may want to drop the pic of the groups and just leave the rifle pic up (although it has a target in the pic too...oh well). Here is a link to the rules re: posting groups:

All joking aside...that is a nice looking rifle. You don't see too many 6.5x47 semi-autos floating around. Most folks end up going with the Grendel in an AR-15 platform or the 260, but overlook the 6.5x47. Lots of 6.5mm goodness in an AR-10/LR-308 package! Keep us posted on your progress with the rifle...especially once you get some 5-round or 10-round groups shot per LL's policy.

This may be of interest to AR10 and Panther runners:
Please feel free to comment or question. I'm here to learn.

A slight dimensional difference might be in the boat tails of these two different bullets, but most of it is in the ogive contour and weight distribution of the lead core. The point (haha) is the Caut. gets loaded deeper in the case mouth while allowing for the same distance off the lands as the Scenar. So what? Deeper seating (greater neck tension), not exceeding the caliber dimension and seating principles might be a solution for some AR10/LRPanther runners who experience unexplained flyers caused possibly by bullet runout or even seating depth disturbance inflicted by ramping and chamber entry - getting rear-ended by a big heavy bolt carrier group. Deeper seating can make the round more tolerant of rough handling by our AR's.
Try it. You might like it. I know; the Scenar's BC exceeds the Cart., but that's moot if the bullet is no longer in the case straight upon ignition due to being stripped off the mag and crammed real fast up the ramp and into the chamber by a big chassis AR BCG! Of course the best thing will be if the Scenar's accuracy equals the deeper seated bullet's accuracy when seated similarly, which is .051" more jump for the Scenar. Given the Scenar's jump tolerance that may be fine. I'll let you know if interested. This gives us some play room between bullet tip and mag interior dimensional limits, with the right powder. Am I over analyzing this? Bolt gun fans will say "yes".

Re: LR308>6.5x47Lapua

Have you had a chance to weigh your 6.5x47 AR? I've been thinking about building up a very similar weapon. I really like the 6.5L and have both my wife and I have a bolt gun in that caliber, an AR-10 could compliment them nicely.

Re: LR308>6.5x47Lapua

Well I have an update. The firing pin broke. Theoretically, heat from piercing primers weakened it before we remedied that problem by bushing the bolt. And make the hole in the bolt the right size if you do this. Too small and the firing pin may be too weak.......and break

So do unlike me and get a spare. Now I'm pouting cause I can't shoot 'til one arrives.

Re: LR308>6.5x47Lapua

Seth, no but its a ton lighter than an AI/AEMKII with a 28" med varmint Krieger!
Its gonna weigh @14lbs..

In case anyone's wondering, the gas port is moved out to reduce pressure. Its an effective remedy. Trick then obviously is to find a float tube long enough.
