Was looking at the LWRC REPR and see that it has 4 different gas settings. N - normal, S - suppressed, C - closed, A -adverse.

New to AR10s ...Question is: Would each of these settings change the velocity enough to matter? I would guess the biggest change would be when you want to "closed" so rifle is now like a bolt action gun.

Any repr owners out there with experience?

Re: LWRC Gas settings = Velocity changes?

I haven't noticed any loss or gain throughout the settings. I checked mine (20" barrel) at 2520-2560 fps with TAP 168gr.... Hope this helps.

Re: LWRC Gas settings = Velocity changes?

I asked LWRC if they thought shooting from a closed bolt (i.e., turning the knob to C) would add accuracy. The LWRC rep told me the bullet is gone before the bolt starts to move, so it wouldn't matter.

The above statement is correct... it comes down to the shooters ability.

However, my groups are MOA or less when it's closed (feels more like a bolt.)

ramjet lol

ok it makes sense. Guess I was always under the impression that a gas gun would be slower than a bolt gun.
