Hi guys

I know y'all are encyclopedias of awesome knowledge when it comes to long range gear/skills/techniques so I have a bunch of pictures of my guns (http://imgur.com/a/GuE9O#0). among those my 16" LWRC R.E.P.R. I would like to ideally reach out to around 800 yrds with this system. However I do realize that it is near impossible to do so with the current scope (Nikon 4.5-14X40 MIL dot reticle) and with the current barrel length. the scoped is mounted using Warne QD rings and a rail riser is utilized in order to allow for the use of flip up sights as well. I have listed a potential furniture consideration and was wondering if you guys could give me some inputs.

P.S: I will be moving to Cincinnati, OH in about a week and would like to know if there are any classes available for the long range discipline and if there is anybody interested in shooting sometime

Re: LWRC R.E.P.R, what should I put on it?

The only thing you need is more trigger time. That setup is easily capable of 800 yards. Stop looking at all the shit you think you need on the internet and go shoot. After that you will have a better idea of what you want.

I take my 18 inch REPR to 1000 and it only has a Nightforce 2.5-10 on it. More trigger time sounds like the best advice on getting you where you want to be. I have quite a bit of time on both my REPR and a 18 inch OBR. Both are very capable platforms. I don't see why the REPR's get a bad wrap. They are easily just as capable of what the OBR is. (Or maybe i just lucked out and got a bad ass one that shoots .55 all day long) I think you are splitting hairs as to which one shoots better. In any case, back to your question, I would spend the money on ammo, training rather than gear.

If you want to upgrade your scope because you found one that better meets your needs or is of higher quality...great. But if your thinking you need more magnification to get to those ranges, i would disagree...don't make the mistake a lot of people do and over glass their rifle with some crazy magnification scope to get out to 800, especially on a 16 inch gun. Your 16 will easily get to those ranges shooting 175 SMK's.
