I bought a new Lyman EX-Zee case guage II. I have the first version from years ago and it is awesome. The new one was purchased because the old one does not have any WSM rounds.

I went yo use it and I noticed that he cases (brand new) were considerably longer than the guage. I mic'd the guage and it was a full .019 shorter that max.

I called Lyman and was told to send it in. I did just that. Fast forward to a month later. I call Lyman because I have heard nothing from them. The woman looks in her "shipping and receiving computer" and says it was never received. Dumbass me did not add shippping insurance (for once in my life)and the woman says, guess you better buy a new one. F my life.

caveat emptor

Re: Lyman customer service SUCKS

I was hoping they would be as good as RCBS, I broke the decapping pin on my 5.7x28 die so I emailed them and they wont send them for free like RCBS does!!!! oh well I'll be ordering from rcbs from now on

Re: Lyman customer service SUCKS

I purchased a .45 cartridge gauge from them. It was milled wrong (upside down) so there is one sign of no quality control. Second, it took me a month and a half of 8 phone calls to finally get my product back. They were doing "inventory"one week that put them "behind". All the other phone calls were "no updates, try again in a week".

I will never purchase a thing from them again.

I guess I'll see for myself.

I dropped the ball bearing thatserves as the case head indexer (mouthful!) that sits on a spring in my Lyman universal case trimmer. Damn thing fell out as I removed about every third case! Anyway, last time it fell out, I could not find it!

I just sent them a fax requesting a couple new ones as I expect I'll drop them again. Can't wait to see if they respond and if so, how much these ball beaings will cost!

I finally lost the bearing about two years ago, got fed up and set up a Forster trimmer that was given to me. What a sweety. Still manual of course but I need the exercise

I'll let you know how it goes.

I have two Forsters now but like to leave them set up for one case each. The Lyman has been lonely up there on the top of the cabinet, where it has resided since. Need to get her back into the mix!

Re: Lyman customer service SUCKS

I bought a new Big Vibrating Tumbler, worked for about a week and quit,

Sent it back....2 1/2 MONTHS later a new one showed up...

Worked a week and quit. Called them and they said it was no longer under warranty.

I pulled it apart, a little plastic bushing was chewed up in the motor, I made a new one out of some better stuff and it has worked for a year and a half now.

I'll never buy anything from them again.
