Sidearms & Scatterguns m&p rails. steal or aluminum?

I am trying to make up my minde on eather an m&p or xdm .leaning twords the m&p.the only thing stoping me is i dont know if the rails the slide rides on are steel or aluminum. knowon has one in stock that i can check out. i would luv any help thanks

Right off of the website "Stainless Steel Slide".

I own both the M&P .45 and a XDm .40 and I prefer my XDm over the M&P. But that is just me since I carry concealed everywhere I go.

I know the slide is steel. but what i am interested in is the rails on the frame. Iknow some cheaper guns have dissimiler meatals

I'm no metallurgist, but I’d imagine they've gotta be steel.

And wouldn’t really define the M&P as a “cheaper gun”

I just stuck a magnet to mine, so I know they're not aluminum. Buy the M&P, you won't regret it.

thanks i think the m&p is the way to go .and its 100.00 cheaper
