Tough day to attempt a 300 yard shoot....range faces due west and the sun sucks this time of year....

Had to wait for clouds to help me out, glare off the fiberglass handguard was brutal.....

Cant wait for my carbide to arrive.....Wednesday from California, much longer than it took to get my smoker from Australia.

Sun does good stuff to linseed oil....

Target....gives me a start for my next 300 yard shoot. Im 7MOA up from my 100 yard zero. Think that is a little too high. With better weather probably be plus 6. Kestrel had me at 5.6.

Terrible shots in 8 and 7 rings....blew those but they felt good glare likely screwed me.

A Bic lighter produces as black smoke as the carbide smokers.

    Nah.

Not the New Green Deal ones I seem to buy.

I hit my front sight with the Bic before I started shooting today, wouldnt have mattered anyway unless I burnt the handguard to charcoal with all the sun reflecting off of it.

I've known shooters who use plastic spoons also. I prefer my smoker. Lehmann's in Ohio had carbide not sure if they still do.

Finally bought a RayVin because they just always struck me as a neat solution.

    Ive done spoons.

Ive heard the sound of flaming plastic balls "zzzzzzzzziiiiiiiiippppppp" toward earth.

I figured Id eliminate the possibility of flaming balls getting on my rifle or keds.

Let’s be honest. You bought it because it was cool.

Nothing wrong with that at all. I own one.

But shooting better because of it is unlikely. ;)

Nope just hope to see a nice square front post.

Looking at mine today looks kind of "rough", could use some stoning or a replacement.

Not sure if I will do either as I bought it to be a GI gun.

Should probably start buying M80 for it.

Thats what I was thinking a weather issue.

Besides the sun temps were 49, 29.9 hg, and DALT was -700.
Atmospherics aren't going to have that much impact at 300 yards. The sun shining both on the target and your front sight will. It's like mirage through a scope

Shit ain't where you think it be

Dammit! You keep posting this f'n thing like you are getting a cut, and by god I want one for my bullseye gun, and you are going to cost me money, and dammit it is neat especially since some one is making them like the old school guys I looked up too.

    No cut, I swear.

    Bullseye gun?

    Is your front hooded already?

Wont be any help if that is the case.

I am 99% sure I still have mine. Seasoned by a Badge and President’s tab.

    You want it?
