I have a rifle left to me by my dad. I never realy new how badass it was until recently. Its on M40a1 with no US stamp. I assume it is a clone. Has a
b series 7 diget ser no
That dates to 1981. I am looking for an armoror experienced in these rifles to restore it. It need TLC. New bluing and general inspection. Any help with this would be appreciated

Cool rifle and a great story. The M40A1 thread will have all you need, and some good gunsmiths listed in there as well.

I just found a set of scope rings i think are enertl . The lugs have been filed off for mounting on my m40a1 with no slot for stripper clips. I am now looking for a enertl scope or us optics for my gun
Any help would be appreciated

Post a pic of that scope mount. We’d be interested in what you came up with. The original Unertl M40A1 mounts are not very common, but there was a copy being passed off as authentic by a disreputable seller.

Here is a couple pictures of the mount.its etched with numbers under the ring flats. Let me know what you think

It might help identify your mount as original or repro. I’m not knowledgeable enough to tell from the pictures. But you know where it came from, so authenticity may not matter either way. Unless you overpaid for a misrepresented piece.
