Hey hide,
I have a 82a1 and went out west with it. Was getting light strikes on 80% of my ammo, put the rounds back in and all went bang. Sent it off to Barrett, they checked headspace and replaced the sear spring. Got it back, shot 6 rounds though it, now it's doing it again. I shot 3 types of ammo, match Hornady, match thunder ammo, and ball ammo. All of them had light strikes every round. Tried to put them back in, again wouldn't fire.
Any suggestions?
I also found this firing pin spring in it which looks like it's missing some coils. Not sure if that could be an issue or if this is how they look.

Had something similar happen to mine a few years back. Barret tech support told me that I needed to ride the bolt forward by hand upon chambering the first round in the magazine. I did that and continue to do that and have not had an issue since then. After you ride the bolt forward by hand and push it into battery the following rounds in the magazine should cycle normally. If that doesn’t work then what MIGHT be happening is your fireing assembly could be getting bound up inside and slowing down the firing pin. If that’s the case then Barrett might have to mill a bit of material out of the inside of the bolt.
